Saludos
Mirella

Hola Alejandra -
I am very pleased with the academics for the Scholars Academy at Beach High. My son is very happy, and although at times it may seem that they have one project after another, no task was too difficult. The english teacher, Ms. Klein, is his absolute favorite mainly because it is more of a college interaction with the kids.
My son has been able to handle his academics while dedicating time to afterschool activities such as the HS jazz band. There are plenty of clubs and other activities, which if your daughter wishes to participate, she'll be able to find a niche that suits her.
Socially, she will be mainly with students of her academic level and possibly with friends from her middle school. Is she attending Nautilus? In elective courses, she will be with all grade levels and a good opportunity to connect with other kids. If she is rather shy, then maybe at first it will be difficult, whether she goes to a public or private school. But I do feel that the kids in scholars are rather friendly and helpful. As parents, we are happy and look forward to our other 2 kids to go to Beach Scholars Academy.
I hope I've helped. If you have any questions, don't hestitate to contact me. Good Luck!!

Alejandra,
Academically, we couldn’t be more pleased. Carmen has several vibrant, talented teachers. Her class work is very demanding and her homework load is as well.
Beach High is a big public school, and obviously very different than smaller private schools. Socially, this has been an adjustment year; Carmen is just now starting to make connections with classmates.
If your daughter makes friends easily, and thrives in an academic setting, this would be a good choice.

Alejandra,
Suerte!

Alejandra,
My daughter is a graduating senior in the Scholar's Academy at MBSHS. I believe, overall, the program is excellent. The key is for your daughter to develop relationships with her teachers, with whom she'll have classes for 4 years. She should also get involved in the extracurricular activities (clubs) according to her interests. This will help her gain relationships with the other students.
As a parent, you too should build relationships with teachers.

Good luck
